Summary of Book
“God’s Got a Problem on His Hands” by Earl Clampett, Jr.,
Does God have a problem on His Hands? If so, what is it? Does He have a solution?
As one sees the pervasive chaos and frenzy in our everyday world, the name of God’s problem becomes apparent. It is mankind’s rebellion against God. Man invited to earth, the spiritual rebellion that began in heaven by an angel. The result was the separation of man from God producing man’s death.
Unfortunately, our religious traditions do not address nor fix God’s problem. Man’s spiritual rebellion against God is not resolved by the teaching of the modern day Christian Church which says ‘that the goal of Christianity is to go to heaven when you die’.
Why not?
Because the problem of rebellion began in heaven. Our dying and going to heaven does not resolve the problem of spiritual rebellion found in us. The goal of Christianity is not the relocation of the rebellion on earth, found in unchanged human beings, back up to heaven. The solution to God’s problem in not located in the ‘easy believism’ and ‘escapist theology’ so prevalent in our seeker-sensitive churches. The reality of the Christian Gospel deals with Christ’s soon-coming kingdom, not the soon-going church.
God has a perfect solution to the problem of man’s spiritual rebellion. The solution is found in the one prayer Jesus taught us while He was here on earth: The Lord’s Prayer. This is not a theoretical book. Many of its principles were taught to inmates in a jail setting where inmate behavior was dramatically changed. Jail guards and staff asked what was being taught to the prisoners in their church services. It was noted that violence amongst the inmates decreased. Gangs broke up. Bible studies formed. Respect amongst the inmates increased. There was something notably different about the type of Gospel message being preached inside that institution. The inmates no longer looked and acted like the world.
The book “God’s Got a Problem on His Hands,” draws out from the Holy Bible, the true meaning of salvation and eternal life. Come and explore what may be the key to a desperately needed reformation of current evangelical understanding about God’s plan for man.
