The simple truth is that we live in perilous times. The state of our current culture proves the ineffectiveness of the modern Christian Church in America – it has no impact. We are losing the culture war and don’t know why. Christians look and act like the world around them.
Renowned Christian pollster, George Barna agrees. In his 2005 report on the health of the Christian Church in America he explains that “the long term absence of real change on key measures of religious belief and behavior screams for a change of direction and a more radical approach to spiritual growth.”
The emphasis of non-scriptural, religious traditions have produced an American Christian Church that has become largely irrelevant.
Simple Truth Ministries addresses the need to correctly define Christ’s kingdom goals for His church. The reality of the Gospel deals with Christ’s soon-coming kingdom – not the soon-going church. ‘Easy-believism’ and ‘escapist theology’ have destroyed the Church’s salt and light witness to the world.
Once God’s goals are correctly identified, then we as Christ’s body can repent, readjust and redirect ourselves to accomplish His will on the earth. People instinctively sense that the time is short. Events seem to be accelerating. Global dangers are intensifying. And for Christians this is potentially the greatest moment to be alive.
Yet the church at large seems to be in a spiritual stupor. A pall of complacency and apathy envelopes God’s people. It is time for the saints to wake up and grow up so they can fulfill God’s purpose for them on earth. It is, as spoken of in the book of Ester, “for such a time as this” that we were created.
